Micro-surfacing to Begin
Beginning Thursday (8/8/19) or shortly thereafter, several streets throughout the City will be undergoing micro-surfacing. Micro-surfacing is a protective seal coat which extends the life of pavement. It is a thin, tough layer of asphalt blended with finely crushed stone for traction. Micro-surfacing is a cost-effective method to renew and extend the life of roads and road surfaces.
Residents who may expect to be affected by this construction are those on Education Avenue from Johnson Street to end of street, Johnson Street from Education Avenue to Parkwood Trail, Parkwood Trail from Johnson Street to South Street, North Center Avenue from Linton Street to Fairview Drive, Sherry Lane from North Rusk to North East Avenue, North Washington Avenue from Sherry Lane to Fairview Drive. Residents who will be impacted by the micro-surfacing will receive a flyer on their door notifying them of the work being done.
