Viroqua Hills Golf Course and Sign

Nestled in the heart of Vernon County, this spectacular public course offers golfers a challenge with 18 holes and over 6,000 yards of scenic fairways and greens. Golfers play the first three holes on the “old” course, established around 1941, and then tunnel under US Hwy 14 to play the “new” nine holes that opened for play in 1996. Awaiting you there are two large ponds and a waterfall, which add not only to the challenge but also to the picturesque setting. Players return to the old course to play the remaining six holes to finish up at the clubhouse.

One of the most talked about holes on the new nine is #11, also known as the “signature” hole. It has an elevated tee box lined with a limestone wall perched at the edge of a 90 foot dropoff. The 500-yard, par 5 hole with the green projecting wickedly into one of the ponds will bring golfers back for the view, if not to master that first shot off the elevated tee.

The original course has its own unique characteristics as well, including a clubhouse that overlooks a countryside of woods and hills that can be viewed from many locations throughout the course. The clubhouse features a pro shop, bar and grill, and the Sand trap Inn for evening dining. Also available on site is a driving range and two practice putting greens, rental clubs, and golf carts.
