English Lutheran School

The English Lutheran School was founded in 2004 as part of the English Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The school had 25 students the first year in grades K-8 with two classrooms of multi-age instruction. The English Lutheran School is affiliated with the WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) school system which has a long tradition of high academic quality in its schools. It has operated elementary schools for more than 150 years. The WELS is the fourth largest private/parochial school system in the United States with hundreds of early childhood centers, elementary schools, and high schools across the United States.
