Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School

Founded in harmony with the rural traditions of southwest Wisconsin, Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School began in 1980 as a one-room schoolhouse with three students and one teacher. From these humble beginnings, Pleasant Ridge has grown to serve nearly 200 children in kindergarten through eighth grade. They offer an educational experience that instills in children a reverence for nature, a strong sense of community, and an abiding appreciation for the values of service. The curriculum inspires imagination, cultivates creativity, encourages freedom of thought and expression, and promotes problem solving.
One of 150 Waldorf schools in North America and over 900 schools worldwide, Pleasant Ridge has drawn families from across the nation to the rolling hills and valleys of Viroqua. After eighth grade, students have the choice of entering the public school system or continuing their education at the Waldorf-inspired Youth Initiative High School in Viroqua.
