Starting Monday April 19th – South Rusk & Washington Avenue Reconstruction
Construction is underway!
Three crews showed up this morning to start the project so we are moving quickly. Asphalt was removed on Washington from Court to Jefferson and South to Oak. The manhole at Court and Washington was installed and pipe will be laid today and tomorrow south towards Jefferson. The intersection of Court and Washington will be closed tonight only (4/19/21). However, traffic may drive on the streets outside the intersection.
It is expected sewer will be completed from Court to Jefferson tomorrow, and Wednesday they will begin installing the road base. The utility crew will jump to Oak Street next and work it’s way north, up Washington, back towards Jefferson. They will be followed by a crew doing water hydrant and valve replacements and sewer lateral installation. You will see manhole structures delivered throughout the project over the next few days. They will be placed on boulevards near the installation locations.
Garbage and recycle should not be interrupted. Please place your container on the boulevard. If Southwest Sanitation cannot reach the location, we will arrange for the containers to be emptied and returned to your boulevard.
Any water shutoffs should have 24hr notice. There is a small water utility job near the project that has a water shutoff for Wednesday. All affected property will be posted on their door.
