Urban Forestry
Trees are an integral part of Viroqua’s character, history and infrastructure. The City maintains over 3,000 publicly-owned trees and plants more every year. The City is committed to protect this resource through education, tree preservation, routine maintenance and planting, design standards, enforcement and teamwork.
The City of Viroqua has two co-foresters with over twenty years of experience in urban forestry maintenance. The City’s Tree Board has five volunteer citizen members that oversee the Street and City Trees in order to preserve and enhance the beauty and general welfare of the community.
