City of Viroqua Lead and Copper Monitoring Results and Compliance
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Lead and Copper Rule requires water systems to:
• Collect and analyze water samples from specific sites
• Notify the home owner of any test results
• Take action to reduce lead in drinking water when more than 10 percent of the sample results (i.e. 90th-percentile) exceed 15 parts per billion
• Provide annual public education to inform all drinking water consumers when samples exceed the action level for lead
• Publish a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) summarizing the test results and make the report available to all consumers of community water systems
The City of Viroqua complies with the WDNR Lead and Copper Rule protocol. The lead and copper monitoring results for Viroqua is available under the Wisconsin DNR drinking water data, linked here. Consumers can also view a summary of previous test results in the most recent 2016 CCR Report.
A summary table of the 2017 Lead and Copper monitoring result can be seen here. The sample result had a 90th-percentile of 1.45 parts per billion (below the WDNR action limit of 15 parts per billion).
