Paper Mache Workshop

In this workshop, Mexican folk artist, Gabriela Marvan will teach participants about the creative process of working with paper mache. We love working with paper mache because it incorporates the recycling and reusing of materials and the artistic outcomes are endless. We hope this workshop inspires local artists to explore the medium of paper mache and maybe even create a piece to share at the Día de los Muertos Celebration in October.

Botanical Makers Event

Plants and people are made for each other! At this event, participants will have the opportunity to learn various ways to make plants into everyday products like soaps, oils, salves, or a sparkling summer drink. A group of local plant lovers will share their crafts and help us reconnect to the beautiful world of botanicals. Participants will take home samples of everything they make as well as the knowledge of how to recreate the magic.

Tai Chi and Breathing

When: Saturdays 12-1:00pm
Where: Sky movement studio (upstairs)
Cost: Donations or barter welcome.

These classes will go over tai chi warm ups, breath work, standing meditation, and mindscape focuses. This is a great opportunity to be grounded and uplifted, fully present and feeling lighter! Also, a way to get to know others who are ready for this activity too.

Food Preservation Workshop

In this workshop, we’ll learn about a variety of ways to preserve the bounty of summer including canning, dehydrating, and freezing. We’ll tour the farm, harvest some produce to work with, and work through several kitchen demonstrations on preservation. Finally, participants will have an opportunity for hands on learning as we process our harvest for winter storage.

Where: Sky Movement Studio (upstairs)
Cost: $5-10 suggested but don’t let a lack of funds stop you–all are welcome

Artist Peter Birch would like to invite the community to exercise their creativity while exploring the human form. This is an opportunity for artists and interested folks in the community of all skill levels to practice drawing human figures (both clothed and nude) and practice appreciation and respect for the human body (and each other). Bring your own art supplies and a pillow to sit on. Chairs can be provided. Contact Peter if you have any interest in modeling (920)512-2226. We hope to see your lovely selves there!
